The Corrections Foundation’s 3rd Annual Central Florida Officer Benefit Golf Tournament held last Friday at Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge was a great success. Thank you to our 24 participating teams from all over the state. We had a great day, though hot, for golf and fellowship and we were successful in raising much needed funds for the Corrections Foundation programs that serve DC employees.

Tournament Winners were:

1st Place
The team of Larry Illsley, Mike Illsley and Rolin Austin of Indian River CI and Loxahachee Road Prison

2nd Place
The team of Eric Hess, Jason Keith, Douglas Moyer and Scott Mauck of Hardee CI

3rd Place
The team of Fred Bonham, Ryan Turner, Rusty Johnson and Darrell Clay of American Recycling and the Ocoee City Commission

Closest to the hole on hole #6 was won by Gail Gullo of Circuit 18 Sanford and Longest Drive on hole #18 was won by Eric Hess of Hardee CI.

Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge was a great host and we thank them for providing many door prizes and excellent facilities. If you have suggestions or comments about this years event please let us know as we strive to serve you better each year.

Assistant Warden, Lee Colson, suggested asking the Corrections Foundation for help. At the time, I never even thought of it. My financial situation was not at the top of my list of priorities then. He made sure the necessary paperwork was filled out for the request and filed. I was surprised at how quickly the Foundation responded.

Until you are in a situation such as mine, you don’t realize how much it means for someone to extend that helping hand.

To all of you who donate to the Corrections Foundation, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You were there for me when I needed it the most.
