Special Casual Thursdays for Officers and Staff Affected by Tropical Storm Debby

Secretary Tucker has authorized four Casual Thursdays to raise funds to provide assistance for those displaced or affected by Tropical Storm Debby.

As of Thursday, June 28th, 127 officers and staff have been been negatively affected by Debby: 29 employees have completely or partially lost their homes; 21 have suffered major damage, including flooding, and 77 have suffered minor damage.

For a minimum $10 donation you may wear jeans on the following Thursdays:

  • June 28th
  • July 5th
  • July 12th
  • July 19th

You can make an on-line contribution at http://bit.ly/DCDisasterRelief. It’s safe, secure, protected, and you’ll receive instant email verification and receipt acknowledging your contribution and for proof of contribution to participate in Casual Thursdays.

Checks should be made payable to “Corrections Foundation” with “DC Disaster Relief” in the memo section.

All contributions will be set-aside for disaster relief and will be provided as quickly as possible to those affected. Any funds remaining will be held in reserve for future disaster relief spending.
