2nd Annual Doggie Dash Featured on Tallahassee’s WTXL

From WTXL in Tallahassee:

The Florida Department of Corrections and the Corrections Foundation will host the 2nd annual “Doggie Dash” on Saturday, March 17, 2012 in Southwood. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Department of Corrections inmate dog programs. This year they’ve added an 8K run, so runners have a choice between an 8K, 5K or one mile fun run. This race is a Gulf Winds Track Club Grand Prix event.

The cost ranges from $12-$18, depending on which race you choose. Register early to guarantee a performance t-shirt. The event will feature age group awards, door prizes, a K9 handler demonstration, dogs for adoption, DJ, music, food and fun. This year they are collecting dog treats, blankets, toys and leashes to benefit the prison dog training programs throughout the state. They are asking participants to leave your pets at home so they can showcase theirs.
