Corrections Week 2016

In 1984, President Ronald Reagan signed Proclamation 5187, creating “National Correctional Officers’ Week.” Each year, the first full week in May is recognized as National Correctional Officers and Employees Week, commemorating the contributions of correctional officers and personnel who work in jails, prisons, and community corrections across the country.

We thank you for your tireless dedication to protecting public safety and we recognize the difficulty of your job duties. From officers on the front line to administrative staff each of your jobs are crucial and FDC couldn’t function without you. We are proud to be YOUR Corrections Foundation, serving the Florida Department of Corrections since 1996. As we celebrate our 20 year anniversary this year we recognize you and the impact you make in keeping all of our communities safe. Enjoy National Correctional Officers’ Week and we hope you feel appreciated not only this week but throughout the year.
